- All scientists start by knowing little.
- Even the best scientists don’t know everything.
- Over-confident scientists can be a menace.
- Examples of under confidence include being unwilling to present your work, not letting go of datasets, and restricting your research, lifelong, to a small area.
- Be open to your supervisor and/or mentor about support you might need with confidence.
- Science requires everyone to accept a need for constant improvement, so don’t take criticism too hard.
- Plan baby steps with tasks and presentations that will gradually increase your confidence.
- Confidence takes time, so stick with it!
